I've been looking at upgrading my brakes and I'm thinking of going for XT ones. Anyone use them, I've seen a few different shapes which I'm guessing are all various year's models. They're on offer at CRC at the moment, are these the latest ones? Also how customisable are these brakes? For reach, bite point etc... and has anyone seen them cheaper else where!?

Any advice appreciated!!
Nope they're not the latest ones. The 2012 models are out of stock until October 12th!

Not the latest, but very good brakes imo.
Reach is very customisable, bite point is adjustable but the range of adjustment is fairly small. Maintenance - on mine, none so far in 2 years ๐
just follow the link on alfabus's post. I'd be hard pushed to think of a good reason to buy anything other than the XT or SLX brakes at rosebikes, if they're in stock.
Cheers for the link. Why are M775 more expensive than M785? I don't understand Shimano's model numbering system!!
Also, these brake levers are the wrong way round, I guess that's a European thing. Are they easy to swap?
I've got a set and they're surprisingly good.
I've also got a set of older M765 Dual Control ones for sale if you want to try on the cheap.
Why are M775 more expensive than M785?
More the fact that Rose are crazy cheap than to do with the model.
Higher numbers are better/later.
Yes, they need swapping - all the details in the link, including how to get a further discount.
