Aside from the price, is there any difference between the two. Will be fitted to XT shifter and rear mech.

Possibly, the internet descriptions are a bit lacking. The interior of the cable housings might be better quality and more "lubed" but not 100% sure

The XTR inner is teflon coated and black in colour. Best to run it dry. The XT is just stainless and likes a little light lube.

XTR cable inners have a teflon coating which the XTs (used to certainly) lack. Think the outers are slightly better, but......?

The XTR kit also comes with the rubber end boots which I don't think the other kits have.

I have the full XTR kit but tbh I am not sure I would bother again.

I've just ordered 10m of SP41 and will just use normal XT cables if I ever need to replace the inners or on other bikes.

I did notice than the XTR teflon coated are a lot smoother than cheaper teflon like the clarks kit from Halfords. But that is due to the wire forming which is better on the XTR giving a smoother topography.

Was going to buy XTR stuff for a 1x10 conversion, but baulked at the price. XT works out at about half and I doubt it is only half as good.
