I bought a Planet X XLA this year on a bit of a whim and it turns out that I love it.
I've been riding quiet B roads and some easy MTB trails and I'm riding it more than my MTB.
I'm now thinking if upgrading it and really want hydraulic brakes. I could upgrade the XLA but that it's probably going to cost £500.
So, the question is, do i :
1 upgrade the XLA.
2 buy a hydraulic London Road because it will be easier to fit mudguards for club rides ( currently £999).
3 go mad and get a Space Children.
4 another brand?
I definitely want 1x and hydraulic. I want it to work OK off road and keep up on club rides. I'm also going to ride the Three Peaks CX on it next year.

No 3 and sell your xla.
What's wrong with your current brakes? What are they?
Yep, number 3 with a second set of wheels. 650b with nice wide tyres and 700cc with 32/35mm tyres for road duties.
BB5 and faff to adjust.
I do have elbow problems and am hoping hydraulics will make it a bit easier on long technical descents.

Why two sets of wheels?
AHH one for road and one for more off road. I'd probably just use the 700s all the time. 35mn Landcruisers since thats what I will use on race day.
If its any help, I've been very surprised at how good TRP Hy-Rds are. I fitted one temporarily to my XLS while waiting on a Hope caliper coming in. Not quite as good as hydro, but about 1000% better than the BB5s that were on it.
2x11 really not an option?

space children is a great name
Interesting typo/autocorrect. I meant Space Chicken.
Yeah, I'm loving the simplicity of 1x and my current gearing seems to be working well.
Not keen on cable hydraulic contraptions. If I'm going to bother swapping I want proper hydraulic.
