A lot of the early press for the 29er revolution I remember being aimed at the taller rider. So why when scouring eBay, pinkbike etc, there arnt loads of xl bikes? Large, medium etc loads, but xl, have slim pickings.

I get that, I was expecting that a greater percentage of the 29er thing was going to be BIG, this is just not the case. Oh well.

I know what you mean OP. I looked for ages and had to travel 200miles to buy a demo from a shop. None about.
Ps. I'm not selling mine either. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wasn't intending that this became a wanted add, ๐Ÿ˜‰
However, Lester, pics and a suggested price level would be very interesting.... ๐Ÿ˜€ (e-mail in profile.)

I've seen a Spech Camber Xl for sale, but its finished with the lower end finishing kit, (coil forks alivio gear etc). What are they like, worth buying for the frame, and upgrading around it?

As said, less tall people so less bikes sold.

And my opinion - 29ers work for us tall people so we don't sell them on. They seem less suited to shorter people so they don't enjoy them and sell them*

* Could be complete bollox ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm keeping my spesh carve Pro! At 6ft 3.5
It's awesome and the best HT bike I've ever ridden. Solid frame.

I've been noticing the same issues for demoing

i want to try an
xl tall boy lt
20" alpine five
covert 29er

seem to be difficult to track them down, lot of money to not only try a bike but also a new wheel size in that type of bike

Not many people need/want an xl so shops won't keep them in stock as they'll end up sat there till end of year and get sold at cost, been the case of all the shops I've worked in over the years.
