Has anyone tried servicing an xfusion manic 150mm dropper? I can't get the seal head off. Any tips? Thanks

I've done a couple of HiLos. You just have to find something to grip it to unscrew it.

You can get shaft grippers (stop smirking) or you can make one with a block of wood and a hole of the correct size drilled in - then you saw the block in half.

I tried to get the seal head unscrewed while it was on the bike with tge saddle on. I used one of them strap wrenches but it wouldnt budge! Its a small strap wrench but it has cracked open air cans no bother..

I presume i just need a bigger wrench??

The post had got pretty sticky so i ended up just running it up and down with some stendec grease then wiping off alk the excess. Not ideal i know but its smooth again for now.

Mine sags, it's brand new, its on my MTB.

I use my road bike in winter.

Do you think lack of use could cause it?

Cheers Dirk, that sounds a similar situation to mine. I tried a strap wrench but that was slipping. Might just have to keep greasing the shaft whilst cycling it in and out (no s****ing at the back please)

I needed a bigger strap wrench for my hilo. The small one wouldn't grip.
