I'd go to Fruita. It looks brilliant from the photos.

Try a long distance trail like the Camino de Santiago, havent done it but always been tempted. Cycled bits of it that are proper mountain biking, not just "improved" tracks. Goes thru some great scenery, cities and towns.

AQR in Luchon?

I know they're pretty fully booked, but they may have the odd space.

Great trails, great guiding and fantastic food as well.

Castallane, Verdon,South of France. Has loads of footpaths, and out of summer peak season you can ride them (I think/did). They contain some of the best singletrack i've ever ridden

Most consistent weather month in the UK, I'd stay here and tour Scotland or the West Country.

Ciclo Montana +1

Although it's pretty serious XC.
Well, I find some of the trails very tricky, depends on your skill level I guess.
And they do tailor it to who is there at the time.

www.sierracycling.com - we have some great singletrack trails & excellent nightlife on the coast of Southern Spain - still have a few spaces left in September.

September is backcountry time for us. Modest climbs, monster descents.
