[#2874232]

I rather fancy a nice light XC orientated HT.

Saw the on-one Whippet at MM this weekend and they're certainly very nice looking frames, only down sides are:
- the requirement for a new BB92,
- headset and the likelihood
- that I can't run a triple on it (that I already have) due to clearance issues, don't think I'd need one to be fair.
- new seatpost
- so probably adding up to around £520 for the bits needed even to build 1x9 drive train.

Or a Kinesis Maxlight XC Pro3, basically the same price, 200g's heavier, but everything I have on my Cove Handjob will fit straight on. Plus the cracking write up it got in the mag the other month.

Any opinions?

Kinesisake some great frames. I'd have no problem taking one over a whippet.

Depends on what frame geometry you want too. I wouldn't buy a frame for any other reason other than it fits me right.

If you fitted the long top tube of the Whippet maybe look at scandal.

Lots of other racey XC frames about, look into a few before you make decision. Just not my thing so not in a position to recommend any.

Njee, is there a lot of difference between the two?

I know you had an eBay carbon HT a bit ago, are they pretty decent?

I think its not far off the onone carbon whippet frame £250 or £300

The geometry's vary, check before you buy. Mine had a short top tube, I'd certainly have another one though and would definitely choose one before a Kinesis myself.

Sold mine to a friend, it's still going fine!
