Seems like a load of Morzine threads at the mo, but non really specific to what i'm looking for. I'm after a guide for roughly the period 10-17th July to show me some decent mid/long distance xc rides. Don't really want to use lifts, just want to ride. I've been there a number of times before, but always finding my own routes tends to mean I stick to the main tracks and don't get any insider knowledge of linking tracks/non way-marked ST etc. More than happy to pay going price for a local guide if anyone can recommend. Or if there's any local riders willing to show me around, or join me for a couple of days give us a shout!
Thanks!
I'm in the same position but for a week or so before? Want to stay off the DH tracks if possible, but link up towns etc. Nothing too taxing as I'll have the girlfriend with me, but interesting stuff to link up forest paths etc.
I've got two routes in mind, which are both long. As long as there's a swimming pool half way round or a pub, she'll be loving it!
Yeah, i'm with the other half too, and there's some fairly easy stuff around that can link up towns. The Mont Chery (sp?) side has some easy trails in, but was slightly disappointed last time, as the way-marked trail descends back down to Les Gets on tarmac!
I seem to remember a fair canny xc route on the Chery side, but the last quarter of it back down to Les Gets, was like you say, Tarmac. I'm pretty keen to explore around Chatel a little bit this time and Champre (however it's spelt). Obviously miss out the big DH tracks that are on the Chatel bike park haha!
