Building up a frame with a boost rear hub and looking at the crankset options. Given that I will fit a AB oval chainring, am I right in thinking that the boost and noon boost cranksets are the same and that the the chainline is adjusted by the chainring offset?
I have been looking at the GX Eagle groupset and that's my understanding of the difference between boost and non-boost, all in the chainring.
I'm running FSA's latest modular setup which allows for boost or non boost by flipping a spacer.
I'm actually running it non boost mode on my boost bike as in my application this give me the preferable chainline
Depends on the cranks. Shimano, the offset is in the crank not the ring. Raceface cinch, the offset is in the ring, not the crank.
You don't need the offset for chain line, you may need the offset for chain stay or tyre clearance.
Sorry, just noticed you specify XO1 in the title. My last part about why you may need boost is still valid though.
