Recently purchased a bike with a Hilo strate and its gone sloppy on the return and sounds gritty also,anyone stripped one and cleaned/added new seals or added air,how to add sir,thank you in advance,it's fairly new,about 3 months.

Warranty. Don't even bother with trying to service it. 3 months old and already knackered. Still, it lasted 2.5 months longer than mine did...
Oh and you can't add air, its a sealed unit that has to be repressurised by the service centre.

Do I bother the lbs or go straight to X-fusion?

warranties are with where you bought it from, so if you got it from the lbs, go back to them and get it sent back.
