On and off rain all day today, but too warm for a jacket so just had to embrace getting wet and muddy.

Considered a ride this morning, but decided to drop the motor out of my Levo instead - what a PITA, Gen 1 Kenevo was far easier. Anyway, off to Performance Line Bearings (E bike motor Centre) for some precautionary TLC.

That's giving me flashbacks to replacing all the bearings on a Demo 8. Biggest faff ever.

Yesterday was a quick 20 mile road ride in the evening. Haven't been out for about a week and I felt really slow and awful, but Strava says I got a load of PRs on my usual route so I'll take it.

Today was just Woburn backwoods as usual, couldn't be arsed to take a photo this time!

Errmmm, yeah - did an Enduro many years ago and my Kenevo a year or two ago - Specialized and their love for double blind bearings is a complete nightmare 😭

Second ride for us in Croatia, 27 miles and 1400 mtrs of descent.

The area is amazing with some stunning views but most of the trails we have managed to find in the Ucka Nature area need quite a bit of work on them to make for a flowing ride. In some areas they are unpassable with fallen rocks and trees that could have been there years.

Its always good to ride in new areas but sometimes it's frustrating backtracking

Yesterday we hiked most of the lower trails so that we could figure out a good route down from the top. Good job we did.

Before we left Finale we we chatting to a Slovakian guy who laughed when we told him where we were going as he said there are no good trails in Croatia or Slovenia and thats why he was always in Finale or the Dolomites

No riding so a bit jealous of those who did.

I managed  a quick local trail ride this morning feeling like someone was stood on my chest ..  The air is awful compared to Slovenia where I returned from Friday afternoon..   @Tracey  ignore who ever told you there is no good riding in Slovenia  as I bet Jonathon at Ride Slovenia can put them right.   The riding around Luce and Maribor is amazing.

Used the tailwind yesterday to ride 73miles to the Humber bridge and get the train back home. Bonus of a steam train mid ride

Haven't managed to get out much recently other than a couple of road rides from the house but this weekend the wife took the kids up to auckland for the weekend so I took the chance to head to kinloch to do some of the great lake trails . My first time there and there were lots little climbs and descents and no real flat sections so you were always doing something . You ride through the forest then it would open up and you'd get a view of the lake . Kinloch was lovely and as soon as I got home I started playing fantasy house shopping. 20260704_115317.jpg20260704_152513.jpg20260704_154844.jpg 20260704_140914.jpg20260704_115317.jpg20260704_152513.jpg20260704_154844.jpg

Couple of rides on the megatower this weekend to get it ready for the Hurtwood Enduro next weekend. Trimmed the bars to 780mm and fitted the new Peatys monarch pro grips.

@stevedoc Thanks will have a look at those two areas to tag onto future trips.

We could call on our way up to Canazei and Livigno but it would mean spending less time in them areas

Snuck out for a cooler evening loop in Stanmer that I hadn't done recently. Had the SDW and Stanmer pretty much to myself.... Someone has been adding Mint Sauce stickers to gates....and there were a few suicidal sheep a bit further down who had poor bike awareness 😉20260705_191229.jpg20260705_195647.jpg

Don’t know if today still counts, but I had a big day on the bike today around Chatel, Morzine and Les Gets. My idea was to link my 3 favourite, non bike-park trails in one ride. I was a bit nervous about getting the last lift home (if I had an unexpected mechanical). But everything worked out well. Absolutely knackered now though. Never ridden so much techy, steep, difficult singletrack in one day.

Different week, same trig.

Fair to say the ferns, nettles and brambles on Riber side have faired well with the recent weather.

apologies for no photos i must say in advance.

i had one of the best rides i have had for a long time last night. i was riding my new specialized epic comp ht on a loop of the marlbrough downs that i do (when fit enough).

the weather was lovely at 7pm (as i didn't want to overheat).

the wildlife i saw was as follows.

3 deer (i think either roe or red) 2 had antlers growing.

3 hares.

red kites, kestrels, and  buzzards including 1 that was perched on a fence and flew off when i was cycling to a gate next to it.

a barn owl (i scared it unfortunately when i was changing my light settings whilst riding through a farm with a bridleway through it).

3 hedgehogs (i decided to head a different way back and saw them in a 6 minute period on the road).

also bats dragonflies and numerous other wildlife.

ended up doing 44 miles and 2621 ft of climbing according to strava over 4 hours 35 mins as i'm not a quick rider at 51 lol.

that is what bikes are made for imho (and am loving the epic ht i must say).
