Usual early ride for me. Sessioned the local jump spot to try and get some jump skills... It kinda worked.
Also tried out new full face. Great fit, felt good.
Then took the youngest out on her balance bike. She's getting there!
Had Thursday and Friday off, School drop off and pick up either side of tidying the shed and tips runs Thursday so out in the evening, then a glorious day in the sun yesterday, with 2 x 99’s and a dip in the sea.
Bonus of a Strava KOM on both days, Surrey Hill’s tomorrow on the way to Gatwick.

Bluebells from Tuesday’s ride

Anyway, I've been out. Bloody lovely today. It's the first sunny day that's actually been warm because the northern wind has finally effed off.
Solo ride for me again cruising on the single speed. Back pain nearly gone, sinusitis also nearly gone, nice to feel normalish again on a ride!
Went for a loop of the local North Third trails with a friend of many years who we don't see often. Get fun remembering times battering round the Peak on rigid bikes while piling down new trails...
Another close to 1300m climbing day in just under 60km. Such great conditions for late April. Bluebells are on the turn, but still look and smell amazing. Ticked off a couple of the harder trails, then spent two hours in myfavpubintheworld(tm). What a great day 🙂
Great thread title - that's pretty much what I did! Quick local loop ...
Obligatory bluebells ...
Some other colourful vegetation ...
Some graffiti ...
And some Bulls. I'd wondered whether they can distinguish between pink and red; seeing as they didn't chase me/my bike across the field, I assume they can!
And a couple of other pics of the bike in some woods ...
Hey Al, blue skies, riding in short sleeves, amazing bluebells, perfect trail conditions and beer to follow. You must be happy about that. Me 🙂

I raised this the other day but didn't really get anywhere with it, it's rubbish
Anyway, steady little solo local ride yesterday with a few pub stops. Wasn't really feeling it but fab to be out in the sunshine
Tollymore yesterday. Didn’t stop for bluebell photos though. Here in NI, the bluebells still aren’t fully out yet.
Another short play about in the woods between jobs and family stuff ... Trails are bone dry and dusty - ace!
Woods Cyclery shop ride. Worth it just to see how varied the bikes are
I think the max allowed file size has gone down?

Is that a 36'er in your 2nd (and last) pic?
No jumps. Some lumps. Saw some bluebells but didn't bother stopping to take pics of them
1. At the top of the best bit of Buildwas Lane. Its steeper then the pic implies. Reaching the bottom, I always breathe a sigh of relief and say "Yep, got away with it again"
2. On the Ironbridge, which was actually quite busy but I found a gap between people
Jumps and Bluebells I can do. Bumps? Thankfully not. Glorious conditions all weekend. The woods actually need (dare I say it) A quick shower to get rid of the developing dust.
Friday.
Today

Shut up with this nonsense right now please
Only a short ride today as we were away yesterday and adulting to do today. Bluebells in. N.E. Derbyshire are peak at the moment. Wild garlic is out as well.
Also the move from 175mm to 165mm cranks seems to be helping me with climbing and clearing sections, which is great.
Enjoyed the delights of Win Hill yesterday. Sadly no bluebells, but plenty of jumps and bumps.
And this delightful green carpet through the woods.
Couldn't let the weekend go past without a bike ride. A few jumps, plenty of bumps and bluebells aplenty - no pics of those though as I was on a tight time allowance! Colsnaur loop in the Ochils followed by a few laps of the woods at Stirling Uni. Perfect.
And it seems evenything's banned these days 😆

yes we had a 36er plus loads of other unique bikes like a modified Schwinn klunker
