damage them as i have just got some lyris and they are 160 u-turns so i will have to turn them down to 150 as the frame i have is a mmmbop which is ment to have only 150mm of travel? so will haveing them turned down cause them to wear faster? spring to brake etc etc

No I think they are designed for this sort of tuning

Yeah, they'll work fine at any travel setting

of course, that extra 10mm (ie this much -->ooooo<--- would destroy the handling and possibly force you to go round in circles all the time ??

If only everyone else on this site were like that then we might make some progress on here 😉

And Lyriks will be fine wound down all the time- when I stick mine on my hardtail I set them to 140. All it does is move the spring up and down in a chamber.
