Hopefully a fair bit goes to the local venue. I have no issues paying to watch but not £30 that is excessive. No doubt parking charges on top of that and I see mention of booking fee etc earlier in this thread
Just popped on to the general sale and got 2 Saturday tickets with gondola. No bother
😂
Wondering what benefit there was for us mugs who queued an hour for the presale tickets! 🙄 I guess peace of mind for accomodation bookings etc.
Indeed. I got in a flap that day as I was at work and couldn’t get logged on until the evening when it was all gone. I could’ve waited till today and got gondola tickets for both days. Now we are walking up the hill on Friday and having a trip on the cable car on Saturday which seems like a good way to do it. Never been to fort bill before. Got camping pods booked at glen Nevis campsite. Need to work out the best way to get between the two- bikes? Or is that a liability to have to look after all day- presumably can’t take them in the cable car during the event??
For the world cups - and I'd assume something similar for this - bikes work well and there's a big bike park on the way in. There are scaffold-pole bike racks that you can lock the bikes to well enough (well, I take the old bike just in case but it's been fine in the past).
Alternatively, there are free P&R busses and it's about a 10min walk from the campsite to pick up the bus as it leaves Fort William.
Ah great that’s helpful thanks
Wet resigned ourselves to buying non-gondola tickets in the pre-sale cos that's all that was left, but if we'd waited we'd have got gondola tickets in the general sale no probem. The hike up the hill will be character-building for the kids...
We'll be getting the shuttle bus in from Spean Bridge this year. Have previously camped at Glen Nevis site and ridden in - the ride back was brilliant as you could be in a throng of riders all cruising back downhill to Fort William. Nice quiet route too avoiding the main roads, all signed from memory.

Its a few years since I've been but either take your bikes, theres a big bike park with those scaffold pole stands - or theres shuttle buses running constantly from Fort William up to the Nevis Range car park where the ticket gates will be. There will be a big crowd of people walking from Glen Nevis and back every morning and evening (blue line) and the buses run where the red line is.
It is a long time since I've been but im relatively confident they will still be getting this bit right. We don't plan on using the car at all once we have arrived.

I did the same. Bought the best tickets available after signing up for the pre sale months in advance. I have hotel and camping booking’s so need to be certain I had some tickets. I couldn’t take a chance on not getting anything so I got gondola for Friday and non gondola for Saturday. Today there’s 2 day packages with gondola available. What’s the point of signing up for tickets months in advance and waiting in a long queue on presale day to not get the tickets you want
The 2 day packages with Gondola access were available on the presale too, they just sold them all.
The presale was just the top XX% of each of the ticket types available.

Look out for us! There for 4 days with wife and 5yr old. Hadn't thought about pedalling from Glen Nevis but was definitely fun when we did it 10 years ago at the first WC.

Exactly the same here: accomodation was booked months ago and couldn't risk not getting something. On the plus side I'll avoid any gondola queues and the money saved will buy a shitload of Haribo for bribing the kids on the hike to the top 😂
Can anyone remember if tickets are checked at the top station before getting a gondola back to the bottom? Asking for a friend...
Tickets not checked at top normally
