I've had enough of my Cane Creek headset - needs new bearings again.

I was going to buy Hope but reckon that if I'm going to be buying anew headset I could try an angleset at the same time. Maybe just go from 66.0° to 65.0° for the lols.

replacement bearings from Works are cheap enough (£12 a pair = half the price of replacement CC bearings) but how does the whole last in proper British mucky riding?

The top set of bearings need replacing in mine. I've never had the top set go before the lower before so I don't think they are sealed especially well. Maybe my lowers lasted better because I always have some sort of front mud guard protecting them these days but I'm disappointed by the short life of the uppers. Then again at £12 a set I'm not too troubled about replacing them once a year.

Interested in this too - looking at an EC44/EC44 1.5 degree angleset for tapered steerer

Any real world experiences here?

I used one for about a year, sealing is minimal, but no worse than other headsets, but my bearings lasted and lasted. even sold it off with the original bearings still super smooth.

They are very good

I put the best sealed bearings I could find in my Works from day one, instead of using the supplied ones. They're pretty standard. Hope ones would fit if you don't want to go hunting for bearings… the Works cups don't offer much shielding.
