[Closed] Working in the industry

Just wondering how people got started working in the bike industry? And what jobs are available?

I've always been very keen on bikes of all types, and love building/fixing them. I do all my own maintenance. Even building wheels and sevicing suspension. And there's nothing I can't fix. So i'm thinking of ditching my current job and going for a job as a mechanic.

Where can a mechanics job lead you to? Is it possible to get a job for the big teams in the downhill/XC circuit, or even to get into a company like Hope? Or are these jobs reserved for friends and family?
