Possibly idiotic question - there's a single slightly wonky tooth on my bike's largest chainring that seems to be causing the chain to not quite sit nicely (see pick). Before I hit it with a hammer, I'm just checking that it's not supposed to like that e.g. for moving down a gear or something. I assume it's not, but you never know...
My wife has a wonky tooth.
She's been patching it up with temporary fillings while waiting for a crown, but that doesn't seem to work very well. I don't think hitting it with a hammer would help though. Do you think I should suggest it?

No it shouldn't be like that. Probably just took a knock.
Just straighten it gently with a pair of pliers.
