Hi folks
Really struggling to find a good hardtail for my wife probably a small size bike preferably carbon. Any recommendations?

Thanks

My wife has a Trek Cali 29er which is a women's specific frame. Obviously not carbon but I would suggest they at least know their geometry. She's got a FS now (not WS 16" frame) and my ten year old is riding the Cali. A WS frame isn't crucial I don't think, depending on her geometry other frames may fit well.

Mrs_oab has a Superfly xs/13.5" and is 5'

It's really light, and the alloy frame vs carbon frame can't be that much surely.

ignore the 'women's specific' marketing and just look for a bike that fits, a change of saddle and thinner grips is sometimes all that's required and maybe fiddling with the suspension forks to suit a smaller lighter person (not necessarily a woman)

Agree with JoB.

Miss4real is ready to sell her outgoing carbon hardtail a Cube Access WLS size S, 29er and although 'womens specific' we found that the frame geometry was exactly the same as the Mens size S. Different saddle bars and grips.

Since then she's had two FS bikes - both mens size S, both 29ers, I've swapped the saddle, grips and cut the bars to her preference.

The new HT is carbon and she's ordered an On-one Maccatuskil after a long search as it's hard to find any 29er HT frames in size S (15-15.5inch) let alone in carbon, which she insists on !

Shes 5ft 2 tall. I think below about 5'1" it would be a lot harder but very few 'womens specific' bikes even come in 29" wheels.
