[#1679281]

Off to the Alps in August. T'other half is looking at full face helmets.

So any ladies with full face helmets make any recommendations?

cheers

Mrs beanZ has one of these http://www.rutlandcycling.com/18039/MET-Parachute-Black-Helmet.html?referrer=froogle1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=pid18039
not hardcore down hill but gives lots of confidence .

Go try some on, the most important thing is to get one that fits. THE do nice lids and 661 have reasonably priced stuff too - check on CRC.

Thanks for responses, suggested 661 as an option, need to find a shop for her to try a couple on

Think about the temperature you'll be riding in and the type of riding. If it's uplift & mainly downhill runs, then she won't require as much ventilation as if it's riding up, across & down....

One of the girls who has been to Spain with us before uses a Met Parachute, and even in that it gets pretty hot. That is riding the lot though, not just the downs.

Will steer clear of google (at least until get home).

Will be doing a bit of riding everything. Plan is to take usual helmet and have full face for lift days.

we went to the Alps fir the first time last year (all dh no xc) so my GF got a 661 evolution in small.
Just try a load on first before you buy. I know she was really pleased to have a proper full face on rather than the usual xc helmet!

Not a girl, but I have the XS 661 Evo and it's pretty good.

I have heard lots of anecdotal evidence that if you wear a Met Parachute you will die.

In all seriousness, you can probably get a much more protective full face for less money. If weight/venting is an issue look at the Spesh Deviant.

Ive got the carbon Specialized Deviant, used it a few times in the Alps. Its light and well ventilated

Katie has the 661

Abigale has a pink one

All of them work well but are hotter than a normal helmet
