Been there a couple of times a long time ago but never managed to link anything together very well. Any body got any GPX files or advise?

Cheers

cyclone is a local club that ride there every sunday - there are a few trails on their website.

If you drop by on their forum or on their FB site someone is normally willing to show your around.

To be honest I just went exploring with mates, managed to make about a 20km loop taking in both sides of woburn sands, bow brickhill and over the road.
Trail pixies have been properly busy recently too, some interesting lines being built out the back (not ridden them as branches have been left across the entrances, will wait until they are finished).
Need to do some on the steep drop (on the right hand steep hairpin line) in though as its getting more and more worn away due to people dragging the brakes. Might try to do something next time. Although want to clear some of the gorse run as thats properly sharp now

Where do you mean by 'out the back', I ride a Woburn about once a week after work but not sure where you mean.
But agree about the gorse, getting pretty painful over the road from the jumps area.

Thanks crotchrocket Might take you up on that. The plan is to take a mate out from work for his first off road ride. So if you don't mind a slow ride or maybe I could come first on my own to find the way?

prolly the latter. ๐Ÿ˜‰
bring a gps, there are a lot of trails to ride - many not suitable for a first timer.

Years ago we used to spend the day cutting it back, my mate in 2007

Danno72 there are hours of riding around there.
If you have time look at Stockgrove in Heath & Reach as a start. There's a purpose built loop there. Then look for the bridleway that links Stockgrove to Apsley Woods (Woburn) It crosses the old A5 and spits you out near Woburn golf course. That alone is an extra 40 minutes.

Woburn isn't a loop, it's a mish mash of great little 'sections' that take a while to learn. We'd be there all day showing you everything.

From Woburn you can link to Millbrook area for an extended loop. Or head off road directly to Chicksands.
Not sure if there are download'able routes from MBR, but in 2005 I guided them from Worburn to Chicksands.

Great spot, I'm pure XC though.

Out the back - Bow Brickhill side, beyond the rollercoaster towards the golf course.
Lots of stuff out there but it took ages to link everything up so it worked, and I know I have missed some stuff

Thanks oldgit look forward to exploring this winter. We rode the chilterns all last winter and it was muddy!! Also a lot of fun but will be nice to have an alternative to mix it up a bit. Woburn to Chicksands must have taken a while?
