I'm planning to go to Woburn on the 30 th, and was wondering, can anyone suggest any routes? Or does any fancy showing a few of us around? There would be cake in it for you. I'm guessing it won't be the bog that wendover etc will be. Cheers

lyons
Possibly. I've been ill with a bad cough and not riden since the 13th so something social might be just the ticket.
With all the snow we've had there will be standing water and mud just about everywhere and anywhere.
Anyway happy to do it if I feel OK. Three things though, I'm old, I only do XC and where do you want to start?

Was up there today and a lot of it is suprisingly dry considering the amount of melted snow we've had.

I might join you if that's ok? I have the week off this week and planned to get a couple rides in up at Woburn before the weekend. Depends on what time you go and what plans the Mrs has but I should be ok.

Might head over there this morning actually too...

Jase (the other one)

12 never ridden that time, but that's fine. Only the parking might be a problem that time of day, not the end of the world though.
Be good to see you Jase and you Jase! you'll have to each put a big J1 & J2 on your lids so I don't get confused.

lyons just sent mail.
Jase you ok for a ride then? I've been ill and not ridden since my last race on the 13th and my legs didn't work that day! so this sounds ideal.
Only problem is my sons got my mud tyres so I'm going to have to put up with some badly worn Racing Ralphs ๐Ÿ˜

I'm afraid I've got to go to Cambridge in the afternoon so I'm going to pass on this and get a couple hours in myself first thing in the morning up Aspley Heath instead so I can be home for midday-ish. Sorry chaps!

Jedi, where are you likely to be doing your coaching as I'd like quick chat about coaching for my daughter?

Cheers

Ken

Jase we're meeting around 12.30 at the cafe, I assume it ain't dry no more!
Ken and Jedi might see you on the way through.
lyons, just about put a rideable route together. The thing that makes Woburn good all year round is the sandy ridge. However when you decend off the ridge you hit 'mud' which this time of year is difficult going both up and down. We'll do some though.

OK, sounds fine, we're all used to mud. I'd just better hope one of my friends has changed from his summer tyres to winterish one. He probably hasn't...

Not a bad ride considering the conditions. Sorry I missed you Jedi and Ken, but we passed through pretty late on.
Glad the Ashridge guys thought it was OK, but come back when it's dry and we'll cram in some fast trails.
How you feeling jase my little poppet.

Still taking centre stage I hope Lambchop.

Sofaking, not that many nowadays. The old Buzzards lot are still going. Walt and plitts don't. I don't know what happened to MFG. Nick-No-Balance still does his in France now training. Pollys in there I think?

Ha, ha. So Walt and Plitts don't ride either? Have occasionally thought about dusting off the Tinbred but that's about it (thinking only), lol I've still got those rims you gave me Tony!!!

Did the Empire Strikes back for the first time in daylight yesterday and managed to thank the guy that cut it. How things have changed there over the last 25 years, we would have been flogged for doing such things back then.
Anyway managed to walk over the handlebars on the second drop 8)that's flat barred jey bikes for ya.
