[Closed] Winter shoes (again)

Hoping to tap into the collective knowledge of STW ...

I'm on the verge of buying some winter shoes with the Shimano MW80 currently favourite. I've had a few pairs of Shimano shoes in size 46 which have fitted well. The current pair have plenty of space around the toes. What size should I go for - 46 or 47 and wear an extra pair of socks?

Are there other similar shoes - North Wave Celcius perhaps - that I should consider? I also have a couple of pairs of Specialized shoes in 46 that are super comfy; is the Specialized Defroster worth a look? How do they size compared to Shimano shoes?
