Hi all
Need a really good pair of winter boots for muddy wet XC riding. Currently using Endura MT500 overshoes but they are struggling with the wet conditions
Any advice, looking at NorthWave
Lake 360s.....if you treat the seams with bees wax too pretty much makes them I pervious to water ingress. Pittards leather uppers, NASA designed gubbins inside to keep your feet warm, grippy vibram sole, plenty stiff enough and come in a wide fit too. Can't recommend them enough, I've tried shimanos boots both the mountain style ones and the others and they out perform them by miles.
IME, specific (and expensive) winter shoes never fully insulate or keep the water out. I've been wearing £40 AM45s this winter and so far, they're beating my old Lakes hands down - warmest shoes I've ever worn. Just a bugger to walk in with no grippy sole.
I've got some Northwave and pretty happy with them. Did have the Shimano ones before that but managed to get the NW cheaper at the time.
If you can stretch to sidi they are beautiful
Spesh Defrosters.
