Just ordered some Sealskin Merino liner gloves and looking forward to seeing what all the fuss about merino is, what other riding gear would you recommend the coming winter?

might have to order one of those baa baa base layers, so are those cut down army gore tex trousers fully water proof or just water resistant like endura singletrack? Sounds like just the thing for rainy outings

Shimano winter boots have been the best winter thing i have ever bought.I used to mess around with sealskin socks and overshoes but once you get some proper winter riding boots no more cold toes.
+1 for mud guards what is the point of being soaked straight off the bat

Assos 851 jacket. Expensive initially but now in its 6th winter and still great.

Gore Alp-X waterproof top and shorts - light and breathable.

Endura MT500 overshoes - the only ones I've had that have lasted more than 1/2 a winter!

Assos 851 tights and Airprotec tights - sewn back together numerous times due to crashes ripping them, now 6 winters old too and the stitching / seams are still fine, as is the material. Try saying that about other brands... I've trashed some Gore Oxygen ones in one ride (wore through material) and Endura stuff just seems to come apart very quickly.

I've had a pair of Altura 3/4s for a year now and they're still ok. Perhaps their stuff is improving?
