The perennial cold feet on a road bike issue, but for size 3 mrs_oab.
We're not (yet) ready to splash out on full winter boots and I can't persuade her to try over shoes for style reasons. She's wearing NorthFace Goretex approach shoes.
Has anyone tried some winter/insulated insoles?
There's some nice new Merino socks arriving for Christmas too.

I use Lake thermal insoles and there’s a definite warmth benefit. Presuming that any sole vent holes are already taped over? Has she tried putting tin foil under her existing insoles?

There's no holes, they are goretex and sealed.
I've popped some foil in last night, I use that trick in my shoes.
I was thinking one of the proper insulated & foil insoles is worth a try.

Worked for me in the past, reduced the cold spot over the cleats.

But I'd recommend overshoes. Altura Thermostretch this year, thinner than my old BBB, but just as warm and not so "clown shoes" effect.

Style reasons? Her feet aren't cold enough yet.

An insulated insole will be thicker than the standard one. Add thicker socks and it's likely she'll need a bigger shoe too.

How about heated insoles?

I can’t persuade her to try over shoes for style reasons.

Tell her it's not a fashion show and to get over herself.

Overshoes are the correct answer.
