Winter Glove - Size up ?

I purchased some Shimano Goretex gloves (Primaloft insulation). They're a size large and a decent but slightly snug fit, if these were summer gloves then perfect. So my question is; should you go a size up for deep winter gloves? insulation thermal values diminish quickly when compressed. I have always sized up slightly with winter shoes and worn thick Marino Wool socks, this works well as the insulation is not compressed and traps warm air. Does this logic apply to really cold weather gloves too?

I have massive hands so have to go with whatever the XXL size is, however being able to fit undergloves is particularly useful when it’s really cold.

Good point there, might swap out for the XL.

Depends on the riding you ae doing, like Kramer I need an xxl glove and usually find them to be a bit snug, but for pure warmth I would like a size lager to trap a bit extra air in for my general gravel xc type winter riding. However if I am on the enduro bike (which I don't use much in winter to be honest) on a more technical trail I quite like the gloves tp be snug fitting.
