Dark nights are drawing in! (sorry....)

Currently running old, worn out Kojaks on my commuter & I need a decent set of tyres for this winter. Anyone recommend me a decent pair? On-one seem to have a massive sale on at the moment too! 26"

Cheers all,

T

i've got schwalbe marathons - they seem to work... (even coping with a km of singletrack on the final approach to work)

it's mad isn't it? it's only August and we're already running short on daylight after work. if only the scottish would let us move the clocks a bit so we could shift a bit of daylight from the morning (ie, it's fairly light at 5:30am, that could become 6:30am without causing any inconvenience).

sorry, i had a bit of a rant there...

Schwalbe land cruiser for me, quite good puncture resistance, good grip on and off road.

In winter I put on CX tyres, Kenda small block 8's. Loads more grip on wet leaves and green concrete.

Another Schwalbe Marathon Plus here, heavy but almost puncture proof.

marathons - tough the new green guard ones are heavier than the older ones

Conti GP 4 Seasons are good also in 28c, quicker and quite robust.

Mud x for me but I guess my commutes a little different to yours.

I used smallblocks through much of last winter... Though they're less grippy on most tarmac than my marathons, it's those few occasions where they work better that are more likely to cause you to bin it so it's a decent tradeoff.

Still bugger all use in the snow though, I ended up with an ice spike on the front and a mudx on the back for ages.
