What clothing do you wear when it gets wet and mucky?

And also I prefer wearing shorts than trousers but is there any waterproof shorts to keep be drier?

Lycra when its wet and muddy. Doesn't get heavy or really hold that much moisture like baggies. And its much warmer.

I usually wear a long sleeve baselayer, short sleeve jersey, long sleeve fleecey jersey and jacket if it's raining, good balance with that combo. normally baggies with 3/4 tights underneath for my lower half.

I would say waterproof shorts are a good investment. Either the camo Ebay ones or the Gore Alp X.

Same as summer except with a waterproof jacket and Thermal waterproof socks.

Leggings. Then I've got some cut down overtrousers which have seen better days. Time to cut up another pair.

Sambob thats a lot of clothing in one go on your top half - do you not overheat?!

Even midwinter nightrides I'm warm enough in a merino longsleeve top and a waterproof..........ALTHOUGH on the bottom half it is long tights. waterproof shorts if wet underfoot, wool socks, waterproof shoes and Altura night vision gloves......of course got to keep those extremeties warm!!!

I've always thought "waterproof" shorts was deceptive selling as shorts are mostly made of large holes, even if partially blocked by limbs and torso ๐Ÿ™‚

Not really, My short sleeve jersey is a Falke or adidas running t-shirt and my long sleeve jersey is a Specialized s-works team jersey, so neither very thick. SFB you are right on one way - they just stop yer arse getting so soaked really therefore keeps you warmer in general and in conjunction with mudguards (Hmm, I know) make a huge difference!!
