[#838934]

Got today off as picking up night shift tonight. Had promised myself a ride on the one ok trail in the area (Hull) ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

But I just cant do it, I'm sat looking at the wind and rain and i've no motivation. The hassle of half an hours driving getting blathered in mud, all for the sake of one hours poor quality riding.....it just seems so early in the year to feel like this. Todays written off, but I must make the transition to Winter mode - any suggestions?

That suprisingly hard to do around here, its pretty much an out and back ride.

A ride would probably cheer you up.

I have to admit that it was with a fairly large splat of realisation this morning that I left the house in just my shirt and felt quite chilly.
Then followed the realisation that it'll soon be tights/overhsoes/after-work rides requiring Lumicycles......

๐Ÿ™

I think you just need to get on with it.
Get the first one out of the way. You'll realise that it was actually not that cold/wet/windy and you enjoyed sliding around in the mud. That is what I am hoping anyway!!

Yes its been difficult enough this summer. I'm ok for a full day, i'll plan it and just go, normally if its rotten weather heading for the shelter of a forest - its trying to do local stuff thats the problem, got road bike but thats just as unappealing. Perhaps putting hot Tomatoe soup in my hydropack might do it!

Would like to say MTFU Ed...
...but I feel the same ๐Ÿ™ bugger!

And come down with a cold too.

Forecast looks good mid/late next week ๐Ÿ™

Cheers

got slicks on a 2nd set of wheels and a lockout. Does that count as a road bike?

Thing is, I am not sure riding along a cold, windy, wet road is anymore fun. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not.

We live in England/Britain,riding in crappy conditions is what it's all about. you need some really stupid riding pals, that you KNOW will be out in any weather....and it would be rude to let them down.
Must say,I'm looking forward to riding in the dark again.Adds a whole new dimension to your ride.

Yep.
Wednesday nights mud/rain fest was a reminder of whats to come, and I'd forgotten how pads can wear out in one night.
