Which winter 3/4 bibs? Not to warm, need to wear them in 3 seasons

Using Gore Xenon 3/4 Raw myself.

I sweat BAD and don't like normal winter kit so these suit me. Sizing is one you need to try. I use a Large and they are still neat on me. I am textbook medium on anything else.

As BikeChain says Xenon Raw are lovely. They have lots of reflectivity as well.
But these have been replaced by the Xenon Thermo- same style of fabric but slightly warmer. The cut is tight as the Xenon range is typically road only and you have to be a regular cyclist for the pad to work at it's best. It's very minimal- the other cheaper shorts in the GORE BIKE WEAR range have more padding all over- the Xenon pad is very specific to the elite cyclists needs.
I wear the Power 3/4s all year round(inc summer) but my new favourites in the range are the Oxygen WINDSTOPPER 3/4, there's no negative to the windproofing as they are still cool enough for warmer days, but they do keep your kness lovely and toasty on mornings like today's.

Hope this helps.

Cycling plus magazine (for roadies) has a group test in the latest issue. Perhaps a lunchtime visit to WHSmiths for a browse? I know some dhb's won the best bib-longs, not sure about 3/4s, but they did test a few pairs of them too.

I found the DHBs to be very poor quality - flimsey zip and the stitching came under after less than 1 winter's use. The pad seemed to be too far forward to.

The Endura ones are a great fit and far better quality - similar size-wise to Gore though - large are v-snug on me but I like em that way...

I use the Thermolite ones, about 60 quid at CRC. They have a slightly fleecy pilling on the inside so perfect for winter but not too hot.

Mine get worn 3 seasons.

Only gripe really is that the logo on the leg is printed, so it cracks. Unlike Assos shorts which use self-coloured fabric. Only a minor gripe though, just about to order another pair as I ripped a new arsehole in a crash last winter and I've been flashing too much bumcheek ever since!

Rapha Cross ones are good and have a nice pocket.
