My 2 year old £35 Evolva light has been utterly great for the both on road and off road stuff, but the battery life is shortening, and it's getting to be a pain swapping between bikes for commuting and night rides.
So I'm looking for a bar mounted light that will do me proud for around the £100 mark. What's the current recommendation? I know Joysticks can be had for around this but my understanding is they are a bit too focussed for this job. I want more of a flood. I've got a helmet mounted job already so just need flood for the bars. Up to about 2hrs on high will be fine. All in one type unit would be infinitely preferred, as would USB charging.
Recommend away! 🙂

I think the Halfords all in one 1600 lumen light at about £40 is hard to beat...

The new Planet-X ones look good for the money.

I’ve got a Light & Motion Taz 1200 and really rate it. They sometimes come up under “tri-sports resort” on eBay, which is wiggle.

Plenty of wide light from the 1200 but they also do a 1500lm.

Ive just got one of these:

Seems decent enough out of the box, hopefully I’ll get out and try it in the field this week.

Yes, I’m aware it won’t really be 5k lumens. But it’s mighty bright.
