I'm looking to check out Windhill this weekend but I'm still a relative newbie, so I was wondering how much fun it will be for non-jumpy types? It's pretty close to me so I'd love to check it out but don't want to go and be disappointed.

For reference I've got back into mountain biking at the beginning of December on a crusty old hardtail, upgraded to a Jeffsy 27 just before new year and have got comfortable on the Ashton Court and Leigh woods trails by Bristol, have done Twrch at Cwmcarn and Verderers at FOD and felt pretty comfortable on both. I also did a few laps of the drop route in FOD skills area so smallish drops are fine too.

Any advice would be welcome!

Plenty there for all skills. It is a push up place though. Trails down, not long, then push back up (can ride it but it'll get tiring doing it repeatedly, so rest the legs).

Various lines. The blues are rollable, and the reds fairly much. Some lines are well groomed, others are more natural rooty stuff. Then the blacks step it up a gear with bigger jumps and drops.

The FOD skills stuff and DH bits are the sort of thing you'll find there.

There is big stuff and silly big stuff on the pro line, but the vast majority won't be on those.

You need to sign up online as a member of B1KE if you haven't already. That's free, but riding on the day will cost you £10. If you have a backpack/water you can leave it in the hut and just pop in after each run, and save carrying stuff.

Is it open then? The Tidworth site closes till March for maintenance.

Thanks for the info guys! Yeah I've checked on their facebook page and they're open every day.

Glad to hear there's something for all skill levels. Really looking forward to going now.

Make sure you sign up before you leave home, there are not facilities to do it there and you get very poor phone reception.

The Blue run, is totally rollable and great fun, and great for skills progression, such as berm technique and jumping (there are three rollable table tops at the bottom).
Have fun!

just in case there's no reception

The car parking is a few min ride away from the reception.

The reception is a hut under the roll in with no power hook up but a lovely and warm log burner. Its a nice set up until you roll up without signing up and have to roll back to the cars to sign up and go back in the cold! ha ha

I know people who have had their cars broken into there during the week when its quieter. Likely be ok on the weekends when its busy, but be aware. But this could apply to anywhere unfortunately I guess.

Thefts might be related to proximity to Centre Parcs, which attracts thieves. Nothing of value on display and definitely no bikes left in cars/vans, as the parking is a fair way from the trails and no security.
