They will work but you're better off with a fatter tube.

What size of "road" tube?
See that's where I get confused !
For example on this Continental Supersonic tube, I've got no idea what size it is ? 18/25 ??

Aye - that's for 700x18 to 700x25. Ideally you'd want something a bit fatter.
