I'm after a qr seat clamp for my inbred, I fancy a hope or salsa one but neither seem to do a 29.8 mm, so I was wondering if the 30 mm one fits fine and clamps tight enough, surely .2 mm is neither here nor there.
30mm is fine. I've been using a salsa one on my inbred for the last 3 years without any problems. Still got a nice smooth action.
As sqwubbsy says, 30mm will work fine although I'd recommend the O-O CNC QR as per here...

Used one for yonks and they work very well. Currently being used on my PA
I have the above for sale if you like - bought it and it didn't work well on a bike that needed a 30mm clamp 😮
While the .2mm isn't much, in this case it meant that it wouldn't tighten properly - as far as I remember...
