Sorry if this has been covered before (sure it will of been) so I've seen some brakes from bike discount de for €296 which I quite fancy (Shimano problems) will I be charged import duty on this purchase? Thanks in advance

Yes, Vat plus import tax plus courier fee or you get lucky and it slips through.

Virtually nothing slips through now. Over £135 and you pay. Dunno what duty is on bike parts, 15%? It’ll be expensive. Most German shops seem not to post to the UK anymore.

Starbike do.
New forks arrived today. Paid them £487 including postage and then another £131 in import duty, VAT, admin fees, etc, so adds about another quarter to the list price.
That still worked out over £180 cheaper than the same forks from Wiggle/CRC though so still well worth checking the German shops.

yep, i got extra charges added onto a cassette from an Italian site via UPS, added about £50.00 to the total. Living in Sunlight Uplands home for the terminally stupid is expensive.

R2 Bike are, no difference to the time it takes to get here either on the last few orders. Quicker than most uk shops as well!

Yep, I find that too. Unless its really unique words, like some obscure gaelic named valley then Google seems to find it well tricky to find.

To add my 2pence worth ( actually £210) I ( know a close acquaintance who) didn't pay any VAT on a wheelset bought from Italy, but that was a few months ago now, so may have changed.

Check Bikeinn.

As they are technically selling through their UK arm all the taxes etc are already built in to the price, delivery takes a while but they've got some great stuff at good prices. Had loads of good offers on Sram Brakes recently. Lots of Sram stock, pretty much zero Shimano stock.

Will I be asked to pay additional VAT or duty charges upon receiving my parcel in the United Kingdom? No, the price on our website will be the final cost to you. There will be no additional VAT or duty charges requested on delivery by our carriers. We have done all we can to prepare for Brexit in the best way possible to offer the best experience for the customer.

Never used them until recently, but had a few bits from them now and been dead impressed.

Expect to pay 25-30% of the total on top of what you pay when buying.
