[#1563662]

I bought a deore chainset and didn't realise i had bought a 48t version.

To remedy this i bought an 11-34t cassette, i know however have the option to buy an SLX 44t triple chainset and wondered if the 11-34t cassette would need switching to an 11-33t one?

The chainset, cassette and chain are all brand new.

It depends on your rear mech, but you can't buy an 11-33 anyway.

I've been running XT chainsets with 44 / 32 / 22 rings and 11-34 cassettes on both my bikes for ages.

No problems 8)

Damn i meant 11-32t stupid laptop buttons!

Oh and the rear mech is a 2010 shimano Deore shadow long cage so should be fine.

I ran that combo with a medium cage mech no problems.

When I was a kid my dad would ride behind me shouting if i ever 'crossed over' my gears, so now I never stray into cog combinations that would over stretch the rear mech anyway.
