Anyone doing this?

I am tempted.
However I'm unsure as to the training I'd need to do. I'd probably only enter if I felt I could do the actual champs distance (~80km plus 7km neutralised start). I think the longest ride I've done recently is about 50km (typically 2-3 hrs max time window). I've no idea if I need to train to boost distnace of if I'll be fine if I jsut keep fuelled up.

Maybe I just need to go to Afan and see how many laps of Whites I can do before collapsing!

Yeah I'm planning on it, if all goes well with the arrival of Mini-me no.3 at the start of August.

Training wise, erm I'll be carrying on with what I normally do, long road rides, mtb marathon series and Mayhem 24hr solo.

Should be ok for the distance, won't be anywhere near the sharp end though considering those guts are on at least 20kph pace on the marathon courses.

Think I need to put in some longer rides, I struggle with 20kph over xco courses!

I'm undecided as to training for that would be more or less the opposite of training for cx which starts three weeks later, but it sounds like a lot of fun/pain

I wouldn't worry too much unless you're aiming at a top 20,
