Anybody got any idea if a 21mm internal diameter rim (stans rapid) will take a Surly Knard 29 x 3 tyre. Possible 29+ for the El Mariachi

It will probably fit, but you'll have to run it at a higher pressure to stop it rolling off the rim, thus negating the advantages of a fat tyre.
I wouldn't run a Knard on anything less than 35mm.

Ok so it's really a new front wheel then to go 29+ , it's a 2014 SS mariachi looks like tons of clearance on the fork to do it.

Yeah, Velocity Blunt/P35 or Duallys are your friend.
