I always keep a spare, so that when needed it's there. It got fitted this week, so I need to replace it but since I bought the last one (Sunrace) there's all sorts appeared on ebay and Amazon whose names I don't recognise.

What's good and reliable, another Sunrace would be 50-odd quid but Fomtor, Cysky, Bolany...... never heard of them but they're 15-20 quid less. Any difference / experience?

I just bought a Deore, but i'm following this out of interest. 10 is enough.

Not used their cassettes, but I bought a Fomtor crankset (inc BB) from Amazon pre-lockdown and fitted it. It was a Hollowtech copy, and I set it up as a single chainring.

What can I say? It was very well made, same weight as the equivalent Shimano, and is still going strong. I'd certainly try their cassettes.

That's interesting, didn't realise shimano were doing wide range (40T min) now, and at that price not that much saving over some of these unknowns.

If you're after another Sunrace I've got a MX3 11-46t sat in the spares box that is never likely to get fitted.

Thanks but I couldn't get 46 to work with my set up and years of SS means the 42 is already rarely used.
