Similar price, similar purpose - I've tested both (well a 905 actually) but cannot decide. Which one will make me happier?
909 will be lighter and faster? - Soul will sure-footed and more versatile?
Spent way too much time trying to decide and should just buy something - but its a lot of money and want to get it right...
Any advice appreciated

The Soul has Soul. The 909 felt harsh to me.
I've never owned either but ridden both for 2-3 hour 'borrowed from a friend' rides.
You can't really go wrong with those 2.
I reckon you say, "1...2...3... X!" Whichever one you say after 3... is the one you go for.
