[#4175615]

Im building up a 2012 905 frame with parts i have removed from my 2012 giant trance x4 after upgrading it. my current thoughts are that the basic rockshox xc32 tk 120mm fork is going to ruin what could be a nice ride purely down to their weight, so i may put the float 140mm fork i now have on the trance on it and switch it between the 2 depending on what im riding. have any of you any experience of riding a 905 with a 140mm fork? is it too much travel for it.

Run lots of sag, I think mine came with 130 forks, its a 2008 model, and that was fine

140mm will make the bottom bracket daft high on a bike which already has an overly high BB... IMHO etc etc. YMMV etc so it could be worth a punt but I'd give it a whirl with the 120's first and ignore the weight issue.

ill see how it goes and then consider a used 120mm float if i feel the need later on. i agree that the bb would be too high with the 140 on it
