The Whyte 19 steel has caught my eye as a next buy.
It appears to be built around a 120mm fork.
Can anybody tell me if a 140mm fork would be too big for the geometry?
I have two sets of Pikes, and would only be getting the frame. So getting a new 120mm fork too - just makes the idea rather more expensive than I would like.
Thanks in advance.
Not sure about the White but can you drop the travel on the Pikes?
I have a Whyte 19 steel 2011, happy with the 120mm fork so far. As to changing to a 140mm not sure how much of a change it would make, obviously head angle but that can change slightly with the frames adjustable rear dropouts.
The pikes can be turned down, but I wouldn 't want to carry the extra weight of a longish travel fork if I would not be using all the travel ... fussy I know!
Looks like the Whyte is a non starter then sadly.
Bottom bracket is already stupid high with a 120mm fork... IMHO.
I had overlooked BB height - pheww - thanks messiah.
