[Closed] Why won't My Reba lock out spring back?
It's been getting graunchy for a while and I thought it was the cable but when I took this off there was no improvement. The blue cable mount thing will still move by hand but there is no spring pressure to return it. I removed the top damper cylinder and can see the spring inside but can't work out how to get at it or free up the mechanism. It's a 09 Reba SL. Help appreciated.
Bump, surely someone must have had this problem!
Just wait til loco answers 🙂
Had his problem, I took the damper out and soaked it in tf2 spray, then just cycled the action by hand, over and over again. ( tip - wrap the damper body in something as the holes are quite sharp and I skinned my palm on it)
Rinse and repeat.
loads of posts about it if you do a search. Basically the internal spring is not strong enough once there is any added stiction in the cable or lever from normal use. I eventually removed the remote and put a fork top lockout on. Cost about £20 and there is an online guide
