Why is it that there are quite a few men who seem to have set themselves up as females on strava? I regularly see men's names on the female leaderboards for local segments.
Curious as to how this happens. Any theories?

Plus it's equality, why separate male and female in the first place?

Maybe they are women using a fake name.
Maybe Strava utilises the phone's selfie camera to automatically select the user's gender, but can't differentiate between boobs and moobs?
Also according to the technology apparently 80% of users are also in the third trimester

It defaulted to female for a mate of mine, we found his QOMs quite amusing.
