I have a KHS CX200 with quazer wheels ,this is the second time this has happend now, just riding home from work last night uphill and ping snapped spoke at hub end, bikes not a year old yet only done road riding.

Why would they keep snapping and why hub end?

Or is it just rubbish rim, hub, wheel combo?

Bad spokes/wheel build maybe? I had this happen on 2 bmx wheels which were known for lower quality spokes. Once one went I guess the uneven tension made the rest start to go. Had to rebuilt the wheels with DT spokes!

Could just be cheap wheels. Either cheap spokes or bad tensioning if built by a machine.

I've got some wheels on my hardtail that I took of a specialized FSR. For a £1500 the wheels were rubbish. Spokes break under heavy braking.

If you want long life wheels I suggest handbuilts from a reputable builder. Merlincycles are a good choice but I'm not sure they do 700c wheels.

If you search the forum you will get some ideas of who to pick. They aren't always more expensive than factory wheels either.

In the short term could you get some to retension the wheels for you. That might go a long way to solving the problems. Provided the wheel remains true then you can just keep replacing the spokes as needed.
