He has just beaten Sam Hill, Steve Peat and Gee Atherton in the first round of the UCI downhill world cup...and by some margin too. I recognise the name but I can't say I know much about him from the mags and t'interweb coverage. Anyone shed any light?
He took last year off from racing.

Hes been around for quite a few years and has featured on some of the Earthed series of films. I think hes always been 'up there' perhaps in the top 10 or 15, but hes maybe only won one or two world cup rounds previous to this
I've only really followed it in the last season so it makes sense I don't know much about him. cheers

I spoke to him in 2007 after the Mountain of Hell at 2Alpes in France - all round nice guy. Can't remember his finish, top 20 though (a completely different discpline to downhill btw)
