Lots of threads over time on why bikes creak, some of which are resolved by greasing Hope QR's.
So - question - what IS actually moving against what that creaks?
Carbon 456 - Hope rear QR. Did some time on roads to and from work and creaking drove me mad. Torqued things again since hadn't checked since built the bike. All good. Still creaked away.
Greased the Hope skewer, threads, lube'd the QR brass pivot with normal finish line wet lube, then cleaned 456 alu drop outs again, and rubbed some FL wet lube (this seems just 'wrong' but hey) over the dropout points where the axle sits and the QR grips.
Creak gone. So what is it that actually creaks. Anyone every worked that out?
If the QR is tight enough to be imprinting it's QR grips on the alu dropouts, then nothing is moving in theory. Nothing's turning, don't gettit 🙂
