My shed is like a collection of useful tatt but the only thing I want, which was put in a safe place, is no longer findable.
It's driving me mad.
I need a wholeslae clearout and someone to come round and give me a stern talking to.
[and breath]
Anyone got some spare HT2 crank bolts and end cap :O)
Tim
probably but no idea where.
All my bike bits look like they've arrived on my work bench and in my shed during a storm tide and been left exactly where they landed.
I have seem to have just enough time to maintain my bikes but not to tidy up afterwards 🙁
Happens to me at work too, had some paperwork re. a secure email link that I put somewhere safe - took me ten days to bloody find it when it was needed.
Luke, tell me about it. I've officially got TOO much stuff.
eBay will be getting some business next year from me. There's 4 frames hanging up that I don't want anymore. I need help.
Is there an iDave diet for sheds?
Actualy, there's three bikes in there that aren't even mine. Time to hand them back to their owners as I've not got the time to move them on for them.
Don't get Me started..
You know those iPad camera USB extension thingys, I've placed 4 in "safe" places now and I'm about to buy a 5th set..
I've £500.00 in cash in an envelope "somewhere safe" in the house..
Those little bolt/screw thingys that hold Pads into Formula Oro's.. yes, yes I have 6 of those "somewhere safe".. and a spare set of Pads that do not appear to be in my tool box..

It's nice finding things you forgot you owned though.
Got some lovely flat bar shifters in the shed and a Syncros BB that I had no idea about until an angry search found another spares box under the work bench.
If you know where my half link is, do let me know....
DrP
I often forget the safe 'word.' that has a whole different set of consequences.
The upside of being a garage slut is that very occasionally you suddenly find stuff you need you had forgotten. I was just about to order some new brake pads when I had to move the washing machine for her indoors. Amazingly there was a pair underneath! I had bought a job lot a while ago and thought I had used them all but somehow a pair had got under the washer.
FOG- true, but it gets to a point where it's frustrating. I don't like selling stuff that I know might be useful to me one day and I hate throwing stuff away that might be useful to some else one day.

Moving house, picked up a vase, it rattled, turned it over, out popped half an ounce of, erm, "stock cube" that I had put aside for a rainy day.
I have found the perfect solution to keeping all my bike "spare stuff" safe. I carefully attach it to a handy frame. When I find I have something left over I aquire another frame to carefully store it on....
Aha - nice to find a collection of like(absent)minded folks... My shed is totally chaotic but I know where most things are, though I couldn't find a 10mm tap I needed last night. Edlong, sadly I have all too good a memory of where I leave those sorts of things...
Bet no ones ever forgotten where they put 1/3 of a shotgun..
It's because you pick a safe place, then decide another location would be safer. It turns out you're right because you can't even find it.

LOL me too
my car key, been a month now, I'm quite annoyed
Whoop and indeed woo, only gone and bloody found them :O)
Not that obvious which is odd for me.
Stern talking to had by the Mrs. Shed sale to commence in the new year.
I wish I could find people to buy all the stuff that's to good to throw out in my garage, I could probably buy another good bike 😀
rob - that's my plan for next year.
