I can't help but feel we're being taken for a ride with the price of 29er bikes. With the exception of the usual suspect affordable brands such as On-One, Ragley etc, many other 29ers seem vastly overpriced next to their 26 inch brethren.
Are they really that much more expensive to produce, design or kit-up?

Giant Talon 29er, £800 RRP.
A very cheap/low quality 29er and you'd flex the tyres into frame and fork with every pedal, no?
Giant Talon 3 is £200 (25%) cheaper and virtually the same build kit.
The BSO* industry hasn't cottoned onto 29ers yet.
