For cycling the WHW what would be the best bike for comfort and speed ?
HT, 29er, FS ?

29er unless it's particularly heavy. I did it on a 26er HT, but now owning a 29er I favour that for speed. FS would be good for comfort, but you'll be carrying it for a couple of hours so need to bear that in mind.

I done it on a Kona Abracadabra 140MM FS over two days North to South very long days in the saddle. Go for comfort.

For a FS, the Trek Rumblefish I tried was astonishinly quick, & very comfy with it.
For HT, my Niner feels very comfy. Skinny steel & big tyres probably having a lot to do with it though.

29 anthem would be perfect. Light tyres and wheels will make the biggest difference.
